PEACHTREE CITY KIWANIS CLUB SPEAKERS BUREAU

The Peachtree City Kiwanis Club announces the formation of its Speakers Bureau.  The Speakers Bureau is comprised of members of the Peachtree City Kiwanis Club who have volunteered to make concise speeches to other Kiwanis Clubs and other non-profit organizations.  Each of the speakers has a diverse background, with each having years of experience in his area of expertise.  Each presentation is normally about 20-30 minutes long, with additional time for questions by the audience and answers.

A list of the speakers and their topics follows:

1. William J. Aleshire--“Sales Motivation”.  Bill, a retired sales engineer describes various ways to motivate and increase your potential to sell anything.

2. Jerry Cobb--“What You Really Have to Know About Flying .“  Jerry served as an F-4 fighter pilot in the USAF during the Vietnam War.  He is currently involved in a number of civilian aircraft organizations.

3. Joe N. Frazar III--“Army Operations” and “Secondary and College Education in Military Academies”.  Joe, a retired Brigadier General, USA, and graduate of the U.S.Naval Academy, also served as Commandant of Cadets at Valley Forge Military Academy.

4. Shant J. Harootunian--“The Language of the Law”.  Shant, a retired attorney discusses legal jargon and terms with which every non-lawyer should be familiar.

5. Gregory L. Hall--“What You Should Know About Planning for a Funeral”.  Greg is the manager of Carmichael-Hemperly Funeral Home.  He is a lively speaker who is prepared to answer your questions about an event which all families will face.

6. Nicholas R. Harris—“Community Service”.  Nick is a recent retiree from the Army.  He has extensive experience in services with youth and special education issues.  He is the founder of the “Fayette Field of Hope,” a baseball field designed for mentally and physically disabled children.  He is a Parent Mentor for Fayette County Exceptional Children’s Services.   Nick is a motivational speaker on fund raising and special education issues.

7. Timothy D. Kangas—“Consider a Cruise for Your Next Vacation”.  Tim has very extensive knowledge in planning cruises and vacations.  He is the owner of Cruise Planners, a travel agency specializing in cruises.

8. Joseph D. Phillips—“A Historical Perspective on the Development of U.S. Business Management.”  Don also speaks on “The History of Kiwanis” and “Identity Theft”.  Don, a colorful speaker, is a retired professor of industrial management with broad experience in business subjects derived from many years of teaching at the University of Alabama, The Citadel, Clayton State and other academic institutions.
